 Polyurethane is

Polyurethane is a polymer whose macromolecules contain an unsubstituted and (or) substituted urethane group. Polyurethane macromolecules can also contain simple and ester functional groups, urea, amide groups and some other functional groups that determine the complex properties of this polymer. Polyurethane belongs to synthetic elastomers and polyurethane leads the market among elastomers in the industrial field, thanks to a wide range of strength properties. Polyurethane is used as a substitute for rubber in the manufacture of products operating in aggressive environments, under conditions of high dynamic loads and temperatures. The operating temperature range is from −60 ° С to +110 ° С (short-term to +140 ° С).

Polyurethane is a unique material!

Perhaps you have already heard such a dialogue:
- Will this detail work for a long time?
- Of course, it is made from polyurethane!

But not everything is so simple!
There are several aspects to pay attention to when choosing polyurethane:

1. Polyurethane and its components are made by different manufacturers and the quality of their products is different. Therefore, we work only with proven global manufacturers and only with high-quality polyurethane raw materials.
2. Polyurethanes can be liquid, hard and soft. It all depends on the length of the chain sections between the urethane groups, the structure of the chains, the molecular weight and the degree of crystallinity. For softness, they can be very soft as a rubber band for money ("Shore A" - 15 units), and they can be hard as plastic ("Shore D" - 75 units). It is unlikely that you will need a Shore scale, but when ordering a product made of polyurethane, our company manager will always ask where this product will work and in what conditions. Therefore, we customize the material to each client in such a way that he would optimally approach the future working conditions.
3. The color of polyurethane does not reflect its properties and does not affect them, because it is just a dye. Therefore, it is better to run away from sellers, and even more so from companies that say that red polyurethane is better than yellow and vice versa. We produce polyurethane of different colors, but this is only to visually mark its properties (softness, structure, etc.).
4. Molded polyurethane is very difficult to manufacture. A slight deviation in air humidity during storage of polyurethane raw materials and the material is no longer suitable for use. That is, you can make products out of it, but it will lose its unique properties. You can buy polyurethane products in our company, where the quality is time tested.

What is made from polyurethane?

In recent years, polyurethane has found more and more applications in all areas of industry: for the manufacture of a variety of seals, elastic forms, parts for machines and equipment (shafts, rollers, springs, bushings, etc.). Due to the high wear resistance of polyurethane, soles of shoes, sports tires, scrapers for cleaning conveyor belts are made of it. Bumpers for automotive shock absorbers, silent blocks, various gaskets and bushings are also made of polyurethane. At quarries and in the mining and processing industry polyurethane screens are manufactured from polyurethane. Such sieves wear out 30 times slower than rubber. In agriculture, bins are trimmed with polyurethane sheets, thus avoiding abrasion of the bunker itself, which leads to its full or partial replacement, and these are additional costs.

What do we make of polyurethane?

Sheets, rods, wheels, shafts, rollers, bushings, scrapers, couplings, sieves and much more. We restore products with a polyurethane layer. Go to the “PRODUCTS” section for detailed information about our polyurethane products.

What is better rubber or polyurethane?

If you compare these materials, the polyurethane clearly wins in its characteristics. But there are pros and cons. Polyurethane is very high quality, but expensive and difficult to manufacture material, at all stages from storage to full polymerization. This is one of the reasons why the mass automotive industry does not switch to polyurethane. In addition, the manufacturer is not profitable to do for the consumer a durable car. With rubber, everything is easier. It is many times cheaper and not as difficult to manufacture as polyurethane. But rubbers quickly lose their properties at sub-zero temperatures and become brittle, as a result of which cracks and tears appear. It is necessary to store rubber in dry rooms and without light, and polyurethane is not afraid of ultraviolet radiation, does not dry out and does not collapse in the sun, does not become covered with mold, is not afraid of moisture, has increased resistance to oil products such as oil, gasoline, organic solvents. All these properties and characteristics make polyurethane the undoubted leader.

Why are polyurethanes so popular?

  • High abrasive resistance. Up to 50 times more durable than rubber, plastics, and in some respects metals.
  • High tensile strength and resistance to cuts.
  • High elasticity, which allows polyurethane products to withstand multiple bends well without breaking.
  • Operating temperature range from -60 ° С to 110 ° С (short-term to 140 ° С) without losing its physicodynamic and chemical properties.
  • Memory effect and resistance to repeated deformations and bends without fracture for a long period of use.
  • High elasticity and elasticity, which allows the polyurethane to stretch 10 times or more.
  • Polyurethane is one of the best dielectrics, which increases the safety of their use.
  • Polyurethane is an environmentally friendly material.
